Subject: [KECE] Further implementing guidance on Korea RoHS/ELV delivered
quickly

On 7 January 2008, the Ministry of the Environment issued the Public Notice
on the Preparation and Submission of Waste Manifest for Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment and End-of-Life Vehicles (ÆóÀü±â, ÆóÀüÀÚÁ¦Ç° ¹×
ÆóÀÚµ¿Â÷ ¿î¹ÝÀÚ µîÀÇ °ü¸®Ç¥ ÀÛ¼ºÁ¦Ãâ¿¡ °üÇÑ Áöħ). The Public Notice of 7
January 2008 contains details on the scope of operators requiring waste
manifest for waste electrical and electronic equipment and end-of-life
vehicles. It also provides reporting formats, submission methods and
submission deadlines of waste manifest. The Ministry of the Environment
will also enable an electronic waste manifest system for users to find an
easy and automatic way for the management and tracking of waste manifest.

It appears that the Korean government starts delivering further
implementing measures quickly before the implementation date, i.e. 1 July
2008.

Please see the details at the Korea Helpdesk website (www.korea-
helpdesk.eu) (right-bottom).
