Guenter,

If you have access to it, Mil-Std 883, Test Method 2010 - Internal
Visual Monolithic, and test Method 2017 - Internal Visual Hybrid both
cover the visual appearance of ball-wedge bonds as well as wedge-wedge
bonds, beam lead, etc.

I have generically felt that the Mil Std's specification for Max
deformation has been too great. If I ever squashed the bonds out that
much, I would consider them to be over-bonded and weak.

I believe very strongly in wire pull data vs 'looks'.

Steve

Hi all

Is there a standard specifying the shape of wedge bonds?

Guenter
