Hi Graham,
Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to hear good/bad feedback from the users of this material. We will have to use it shortly as another UV cure CC we were using (Envibar 1244T), went (or is shortly going) obsolete. UV40's manufacturer was a little hard to reach and get answers to questions I had, but I could finally speak to them yesterday. Their customer service is not the greatest.
Are you using this coating yourself? How sensitive is this coating to contaminants (especially Silicone?)

Steve,
This coating has a primary UV cure and a secondary Moisture cure. The UV cure should be instantaneous and will depend on the thickness, the coating should be tack-free after the UV cure and the product is ready to ship after the initial UV cure. An UV cure oven with a "H" bulb source should be used.

After the primary UV cure, the coating reacts with the moisture in the air to fully cure in 2-3 days based on ambient temp and humidity.

Amol

Subject: Re: [TN] Humiseal UV40 Conformal Coating

Hi Graham!

It's funny that this thread should come up now. We just realized that
the urethane coating we use requires at least a 20-hour cure, and
everybody went into a tizzy about our ship schedule.

I was then asked if I knew anything about UV cure coatings, which I
don't. So my first question is; how long does it need to cure before
it's ready to ship? I understand that it might not be fully cured and
ready for full service, but rarely, if ever, do we ship something to our
customer that will get put into full service as soon as the they receive
it.

Also, what kind of UV source, or oven would you recommend?

Thanks!

Steve Gregory

Amol

It is indeed a new coating, and a good one. There are several users in
Europe who, not speaking English, don't see the Technet. What do you
need to know and I will see if I can help

Kindest regards

Graham Naisbitt
