component cleanliness. I have an interesting research proposal in to Carol

On another topic - a bunch of us are interested in tin whiskers incidence.
You look at RIM warranty returns for evidence of the start of whiskers? I am
inclined to go to the limited number of electronics scrap recyclers and see
if we can find a "gold mine/tin whisker mine" of information in the newer
stuff they are getting back. My guess is that they get either really old stuff,
or very new stuff being scrapped because of new models coming out - cell
phones, games, etc. What do you think?
