With a glas plate, more than volume deposition, it is easy to check the uniformity of contact, how the air blade works and whether the preheating element is doing its job correctly.
The less they heat, the dirtier the glass gets.
To check the flux volume i measure the board before and after being fluxed. On Technical datasheet from the flux manufacturer sometimes is reported the correct quantity to apply onto the board.
