Hi Sue!

The best way I've found is micro-abrasion. The system I used was from a
company called CCR Co. Here's a brochure of the station I used:

http://www.ccrco.com/ccr_bro.pdf

Here's a good download about the different techniques of removing all
types of coating including parylene:

http://www.ccrco.com/study.pdf

Sure, it's biased towards their stations, but they're very good
stations, and they address the ESD issues that you normally see with
micro-abrasion.

With their stations, parylene is probably one of the easiest coatings to
remove. The toughest is freshly cured urethanes...

Subject: [TN] Parylene Coating Removal

What is the best way to remove parylene coating? Right now the
operators are scraping the coating off the joint enough to allow access
with a solder iron. We would like to find a better way.
