TechNet - I know our MacDermid booth was next to "BeamWorks" at the SMTAI
show in Orlando in October. I just thought laser soldering by BeamWorks was a
new idea. I have absolutely no opinion about BeamWorks except I got some
ideas for special applications from seeing them work their laaser soldering
machine. I can guess that laser soldering is quite CAD/Gerber programming
dependent. Seems to me they were dispensing and laser soldering - guess if you
know where you dispensed it, you know where to melt it. Comments?

Yes it did fade away, although I am not sure it ever really blommed. I
remember when I put a laser soldering YAG system on the SMARTEX exhibition
production line in Wiesbaden Germany in 1987 that :
A It worked fantastically well
B Everone was excited about it
C The yields were fantastic
D Nothing ever came of it...............cost??
