We use Autocad, its cheap $$ compared to others, easy to learn, easy to
use, as a lot of import\export capabilities and you can get Autocad
viewers to distribute freely across the company.

Subject: [DC] Cable CAD Tools

I've been tasked with finding a CAD tool to assist in generating cable
drawings.

We'd like something where engineering can specify connector types (part
numbers), make a simple schematic (ex:J1-1 to P1-2) and PRESTO out comes
a drawing. (All CAD tools do this RIGHT? hehe)

(CAD group would finish up the details)

We use Solidworks as a mechincal tool, seen the demo for their cabeling,
but training and licenses are $$$. (Need something easier to use.)

So if anyone can give me some insight to what others are using out
there, I'd appreciate is. As of now, manager is leaning to Visio...(ugh)
