I've used (for switches) purified lanolin diluted 5 g/l in the mis-named 
petroleum ether (aka pure white spirit, pure paraffin) with a flash 
point of 55-65°C. This solvent is relatively non-toxic and safe. If you 
want something that evaporates faster, you can choose a fraction with a 
lower flash point, but don't go too low.
