You don't need to do it on each individual component or PWB of the
product, unless the individual PWB's are sold separately, commercially.
Just the laser printer itself would need the Wheelie bin label.

Genny,

Thank you for the reply. I believe these are on a PWBA that goes inside
a Laser Printer. It may be for real time clock or other backup
function. Since the laser printer would be dependant on electric power,
you're saying the wheelie bin label is needed. I guess it would need to
be on the battery if space permits or on the PWBA.

Does it require the battery power (or any other electrical current
source) to fulfill its primary function? Or is that just powering an
optional feature that is not needed to still make use of the product?
The example they give of something that doesn't need the label is a
teddy bear with a battery. It is still a teddy bear whether or not the
battery works. If the battery works it has additional functions though.
However if it is dependent on electric current, or electromagnetic
fields to do its primary function, then it needs the wheelie bin label.

Subject: [LF] Lithium Battery Question

Lead-Free Experts

Sorry if this question is a bit off subject here but our engineering
group asked me to ask you. Also, thank you for all the excellent
discussions over the last few years. Now my question...

We use some lithium coin batteries in our products. These include
CR1220, CR1632, CR2032, CR2430 and CR2016.

Do we have to label the board or/and system with the wheeled bin symbol?

Thanks,
Doug
