For small ovens, APS Novastar has some excellent choices. We use BTU
here at GD, and we are extremely pleased with it, but some of my other
clients for which I do BGA assembly and solder ball attach or
flipchips/microelectronics use the smaller APS ovens in addition to
larger reflow ovens.
APS makes excellent ovens for such things as smaller circuit boards,
reballing BGAs, flex circuits, and even as a bake oven (simply set the
conveyor to 00.0). The temperature stability is awesome. Set the temps,
wait 10 minutes until the actual temps stabilize, and then watch the
oven hold the actual temp to the set temp +-1 degree or less. They are a
smart choice to have when you want another oven so you do not have to
tie up the larger "production" ovens, and they use a lot less power.
They can be used to reflow standard .062" thick PWBs even up to about an
8" x 10" size, no problem. I had one in my own shop and used it for ten
years, then sold it to another company two years ago, and it is still
running. During all this time it has had no problems, none, and is
currently running at least an 8 hour shift daily. Its wise not to look
down your nose at the cost savings of using a good smaller oven for
product where it is appropriate.

Subject: [TN] Recommend me a reflow oven

It's budget time again and I'd like to ask for a small reflow oven.

I'm going to use it mainly for conditioning microelectronics devices
prior to environmental testing but want the ability to carry out lead
free soldering on small boards to no particular quality standard.

So I'm looking for something that's small, easy to use, easy to maintain
and reasonably priced.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
