A treasure for those interested in corrosion. I'll certainly find most on
that clinic. Will tell the result from my investigation. Deionized water and
glycol is seemingly corrosive to aluminum, but not to anodized or chromated
aluminum. The primary side of the actual heat exchanger is aluminum and the
secondary (laser cavity) is Ti/Al alloy. The cavity seems to have no
plating, which may be the root cause. There is an O-ring in between the
systems, and that one seems to leak a little. Deionized water+glycol on both
sides. Corrosive products only in laser cavity.

I take the risk once more. Liquid-liquid heat exchanger for laser cavity is
made of Ti/Al alloy. Cooling liquid is 50/50 ethylene glycol-water.
Corrosion product is aluminum hydroxide, as far as can see. Lots of, as
another TN member also found, no name. Question: has anyone seen a
confirmation, that glycol-water cause corrosion on Ti/Al alloys? Simple as
that.
