It depends upon the type audit being performed, the extent, the scope, as
well as... There are no strict blank-and-white requirements within ISO 9001,
AS 9100 goes farther in that I would include this as part of your metrology
program, military audits most certainly would demand this, furthermore...

Does your system have considerations for compliance with (i.e. ansi/tr
20.20)? If so I would say yes, it needs to be included.
Do purchase requirements identify the supplier must have an ESD program? If
so I would say yes, it needs to be included.
Are you actually working with static sensitive devices? If so I would say
yes, it needs to be included.
Are you at all concerned about defects, loss, customer satisfaction? If so I
would say yes, it needs to be included.
And finally, if it is just not important to your company, then no, forget
about it, your best guess on whether they work is probably suitable.

Subject: [TN] ESD wrist strap testers.

Hi all,
I am having a discussion with an auditor regarding the need to have wrist
strap testers calibrated or labeled calibration not required. Does anyone
know if calibration/verification is required for ESD wrist strap testers?

Regards,
