Hello Technetters,
Just a simple question. What's the World class DPMO right now in the CEM
industry? Years ago, I heard it was 50 DPMO. Is there any surveys,
benchmark reports available? By the way, don't tell me 3.4 (which
corresponds to 6Sigma) as this isn't realistic to me. Our factory is
working in a high mix / low volume type of environment with many NPI
jobs. I think we achieve a good DPMO right now (always room for
improvement though) but I was just curious to compare our site with
World class factories.

My own definition of DPMO includes total defects found at Visual
Inspection (on SMT line), X-Ray inspection and ICT/ Flying Probe test
for any pcba complexity (both SMT and TH).
