Subject: [TN] non-corrosive rtv

Hey!

Happy Friday!

(I have a colleague that says, "When you work seven days a week, every
day is Monday." But he's a cynic).

But, I digress.

Does anyone know of an insulator that we can goop onto a 3V battery?

I've heard that standard RTV is corrosive and we'd like to use some that
isn't corrosive.

Thanks a bunch.

Regards,

Bob Wilson

Subject: Re: [TN] Silicon Solar Cells

It depends on whether it is a Generation 1 or Generation 2 SC. Gen 1 are
thin 100% crystalline silicon cells, and Gen 2 are thin films of silicon
and/or other semiconductors deposited on a glass or even a foil-covered
glass substrate.
Copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) solar cells have a CTE of about
2.8-3.2 ppm/K dependent on the base type. The moisture content of the
cell also affects the CTE. One would not think a piece of glass would
absorb moisture so readily, but it does.

I do not have any information on the modulus of elasticity. You could
contact our suppliers, RWE Schott Solar or Evergreen Solar, and the
materials scientist should be able to answer your questions.

Subject: [TN] Silicon Solar Cells

Hi,
Would anybody have the modulus of elasticity and coefficient of thermal
expansion for silicon solar cells?
