A number of years ago we switched to Metcal soldering stations but since
that time a number of other companies have greatly improved their
soldering stations to compete.

We seem to be gong through a lot of their expensive tips and the power
packs take up a lot of real estate on already overcrowded benches.

Most of our soldering is in the form of wires to terminals, rework on
CCA's that have large ground planes and also SMT parts. We are not doing
any BGA's and we only use Sn/Pb solder with RMA flux.

Do any of you have any recommendations for other manufacturers that you
are having good luck with.

You can contact me off line if you don't feel comfortable talking about
specific manufacturers on this forum.

Thank you,

KennyB
