IPC Materials Declaration Workshop Series:

Information Exchange and the Perfect Bill of Material

November 8, 2007 - Boston, MA

November 27, 2007 - San Jose, CA

Instructor: Dieter Bergman, IPC

This exciting one day workshop provides an overview of the process
information that needs to be exchanged between trading partners;
especially between design and manufacturing disciplines. As electronic
data transfer becomes a reality, everyone talks about the perfect BOM.
The only difficulty is that everyone sees this entity a little
differently from the very generic description of a list of components,
to a very granular representation that includes material properties,
cost, weight, and performance descriptions.

Data Transfer and Capture Technology: The Secret to Effective
Communication

November 9, 2007 - Boston, MA

November 28, 2007 - San Jose, CA

Instructor: Dieter Bergman, IPC

This one day workshop provides an overview of the various methods used
to maintain a proper data base and how information is passed from the
Design Intent to the manufacturing reality. The industry has long
suffered from poor methodology on how design information is converted to
data streams and the interpretation needed by CAM systems in order to
decipher the customer's requirements and convert the vagueness into real
product. Decisions made on the production floor come at an expense in
either extra cost for data crunching or design rule over-rides in order
to manufacture the product. During this process rarely do the
constituents communicate one on one.

If you register for two consecutive workshops you will receive 10% off
the registration fee for the second workshop. If more than three
individuals from your company plan on attending at the same time, you
will receive the fourth registration FREE. For more information, or to
register please cut and paste www.ipc.org/MatDec0807 into your browser
and download the registration form.
