I attended a lecture where they hypothsized that another planet full of
water docked with earth and trnasferred the water to the earth and then
took it back after so many days and went away.
Another scenario I have come across is that the flood was for the people
who troubled Noah so it did not need to engulf the rest of the world and
populations who did not even know about Noah. It was local so there was no
need to save every creature on the face of the earth except for those
cattle needed to fulfill immediate needs of the few who would be left in
that area. So that would not need too huge a ship.
I also heard someone say that the Bible was destroyed during the raids of
Nebochadnezzar and was rewritten later by Ezra, et al.
Eventually, one day man may figure out every thing as man continues making
new discoveries every moment of the time.
