Hi Inge,
I run a 450 watt sub woofer behind a pair of
Magnaplanar Tympani 1D speakers (4 Ohms) driven
by 450 watt mono blocks and some nice Polk Audio
rears and center. One needs the power for dynamic
range especially when playing SACD disks in
stereo of surround sound with good movies. The
meteor coming in over your left shoulder in
Dinosaurs will have you jump out of your seat as
it impacts in front of you to the right of
center. My neighbors have never complained but my
wife does leave during some passages.
