Subject: [LF] Potting Mix (O.T)
Hello,
I wish to pot a small automotive module for which I am assembling
very small volume.
I used what was on hand, a fibreglass polyester resin, for my first
prototype without
incident.
Can anybody comment on the appropriateness of continuing to use such
resin as while
this is somewhat of a backyard exercise for some ignition modules,
for which I found the
resin readily available and cheap, I am keen to pursue reliability. I
have no knowledge of
whether such a resin has any negative influence on electronic
components, FR4 board
and PVC wires. The alternative Dow corning materials seem rather
expensive.
Cheers, Colin
