We have a strange problem here and I was hoping someone could provide an
explanation. I had Steve post a couple pictures to his site for
viewing, thanks Steve!

We are seeing this crystalline growth all over a single assembly that
was built back in Feb 07 and shipped to one of our customers who kept it
stocked in the original esd bag. They noticed it once it was required
for use and returned it to us. The only thing in our process that I
think could possibly be the root cause is that our board cleaner solvent
(Bioact EC-7R) was getting very flux loaded about that time but we
haven't seen this on any other assemblies that have been built since
then. We are using no-clean fluxes and only clean boards that have high
impedance circuitry. I find it very strange that the growth occurs on
the plastic parts as well as the leads of components. Any ideas?
