I hate to answer your question with a question, but I don't believe
there is any limit in the number of rework cycles allowed for any solder
or process anywhere in IPC or within J-STD-001 no matter what the alloy
is. Am I wrong?

allowed by IPC changed for lead free?"

 

And I confess I don't know but I bet someone on this link does.

 

If you could let me know number of thermal cycles allowed and the spec
reference I would be grateful.
