Hi Bev,

I haven't looked at this for a long time and currently do not have a
copy but I think EIA-481-1 and EIA-481-2 have this information.

Good luck,

Subject: [TN] Force needed to remove SMT reel cover tape

TechNetters,
First I am a chemist not an SMT engineer. Perhaps all of you know this
off the top of your head. Is there a standard that governs the force
required to peel the cover tape back from a reel of SMT components? Is
there a value, for instance, of x grams of force/y mm width of reel?
Thanks in advance.
Bev
