Subject: 26 AWG HML Wire

Steve, would you mind posting these pictures for me.
Thanks in advance
Donald Kyle

Good morning

I have some inductors that were made recently that we are having an
issue with.

They are wound multifilar with 26 AWG HML wire. The problem is with the
polyimide insulation; it's peeling off the wire. Not good for the wires
to short.

I'm suspecting that the insulation was not cured or maybe it's not
polyimide insulation.

The insulation is peeling where the wire was bent tight and even where
it wasn't.

These inductors have had a varnish applied and cured but no other
processes after that except assembly onto boards.

Picture 1 is a lead that was soldered to the board; you can see the
insulation has peeled back.

In picture 2, the wires are held together with epoxy and the insulation
has peeled back where the wires make a bend.

In picture 3, is another wire with the insulation peeling back.

In picture 4, you are looking straight down the barrel. Notice how the
insulation has come away all around the wire.

In picture 5, you are looking at picture 4 but at an angle.

In picture 6, you are looking at a good piece of wire from my stock.

Any ideas?
