We brought a 990 second-hand to go with our Meiji trinocular
microscope(EMZ-8TR with an oblique viewer MA571, which is superb).
Unfortunately the 990 died, but we discovered that the new Nikon P5000
has a threaded body and used with the UR-E20 adaptor it adapts to the
microscope beautifully.

Subject: [TN] Microscope camera, solution

Hi, Steve and others who had ideas about how to arrange cheap microscope
photography. I followed Steve Gregory's idea, but used a trinocular
output on the stereo microscope.
1. Used a old Nikon Digital Camera E990, which one nobody wanted. Cost:
zero
2. Got a old PC with old CRT screen, for camera digital output. Cost:
zero
3. Had our shop to machine simple adapter for camera-to-trinocula: Cost:
100 USD
4. Bought a Sony Bravia Monitor for camera video output. Cost: 250 USD
5. Installed Nikon View for E990 on PC.

Works just fine. Sending some pics to Steve, showing camera and some
pictures taken with this home made arrangement. A professional camera
for this Zeiss Z12 stereo microscope had cost from 5,000 USD and up. So,
don't throw your old stuff! Can be used according to Steve's recipe

Inge
