Hi Amol,
I have only been able to do it one pin at a time after total destruction
of the connector body (If there is a connector body).
I would double check the specto hole size. Also, see if your PCB housr
used the recommended pre-drill for the pree-fit plated hole. This is
critical.
Some of the larger connectors I have worked with are up to 500 press-fit
pins.

[TN] Press Fit Connector rework

Dear Technetters,
Is anybody aware of ways to remove press fit connectors once they are
inserted in the PTHs??. We have a situation where the connector is
removing plating from the PTHs as well as removing the annular ring on the
outside of the holes. The surface finish is ENIG. So far the investigation
has revealed that the hole size and the pin size is within tolerance.
While we are determining the root cause, we also need to see if there is a
way to rework these boards.

I have some pictures which I can post if anyone wants to take a look.

Thanks in advance,
Amol
