I think the damage would happen to a soaked electronic component if turned
on while wet. The component may be saved if turned off and turned on only
after completely drying the moisture out and may be cleaning thoroughly with
alcohol.

my cell fell in puddle of water ( its raining heavy in Goa) the
authorised
repair centre told me the LCD panel is bust.
with all knowledge from u gurus I know it cannot happen as electronics
is
so
rugged today. so I open it up, separate the PCBs remove the camera and
ultrasonic clean the assemblies in pure IPA. Bake at 75 degC for 1 hour
and
its OK.
So thanks to all of u. saved 400$.
