Daughter dropped hers into a pond while looking at frogs. I told her to 
immediately remove the battery (prevent electrolytic corrosion!), rinse 
it in DI water and leave it in as many bits as possible to dry out. The 
following day, it was reassembled and it worked perfectly and continued 
that way until she lost it in Cambodia 18 months later.
