Sr. PCB Designer

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design of low to high-density printed circuit boards that meet IPC and regulatory agency requirements, are cost effective, and are compatible with automated assembly equipment.

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  a.. Prepares layouts, schematic, assembly, and fabrication drawings for new or revised printed circuit boards.  Selects and works with vendors that provide prototype printed circuit boards. 
  b.. Uses various computer tools to solve problems related to the design of printed circuit boards - both Electrical and Mechanical (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.). 
  c.. Works closely with Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, outside contractors, other PCB designers, and PCB fabrication houses. 
  d.. Maintains schedule of PCB development.  Provides prototype cost estimates. 
  e.. Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions. 
  f.. Maintains computer files containing current and inactive revisions of printed circuit boards. 
  g.. Maintains Quality Specification for printed circuit boards, and updates document as fabrication and assembly technology changes. 
  h.. Stays current with latest PCB developments and software package evolution.
 EXPERIENCE:

  a.. 8 years experience in all phases of printed circuit design. 
  b.. PCAD experience a must.  CAD/CAM a plus. 
  c.. Experience designing double-sided and multi-layer PCB's for thru hole and SMT technology. 
  d.. Experience mixing high-speed digital, sensitive analog, and power electronics circuits on one board. 
  e.. Experience designing boards that meet UL/CE safety requirements. 
  f.. Experience designing boards that meet FCC/CE EMC requirements. 
  g.. Good interpersonal skills. 
  h.. Ability to work with engineers, suppliers, and other departments with minimum supervision.
EDUCATION:

Technical school graduate or equivalent experience. 

CID (CID+) certification is a plus.
