I used Artworks Conversion Software's dxf2gbr DOS version about 15 years
ago and found it very useful. I would expect the gbr2dxf would work as
well.

Subject: Re: [DC] Gerber to DXF
Hello David,
I remember in the past I tested a specific translator "gbr2dxf" , but I
never used it actually , and I cannot say whether it will be efficient
enough with enhanced gerbers
It seems like this utility is still provided per "artwork.com" : see
here : http://www.artwork.com/gerber/gbr2dxf/index.htm
It is also possible with VALOR E3000 , but is is very expensive....
unless you have one nearby
regards.

Subject: [DC] Gerber to DXF
I have a very basic need to export decent looking DXF's from Gerber
files. I have used GC Preview Plus but it does not really work in the
"fill or enhanced mode", it creates all kinds of weird looking entities,
and it doesn't import into my design program. In the non-enhanced mode,
pads come out just looking like straight lines so you may not even
recognize a connector or component, it looks thin traces ending at
nowhere. Although it is only $495.00. I kind-of works.
I have used CAM350 and it seems to work well, but if I remember
correctly it was quite expensive just to be able to generate DXF's.
Is there a reasonable solution here. Decent looking DXF's for just a
reasonable cost.
Thanks,
David Baldwin CID+
