Hi Leland,
Normally, the leads of QFP's are very flexible/compliant and PCB warpage
should not be an issue.
Typical QFP's have gullwing leads with a relatively long shoulder portion as
well as relatively small lead cross-sections.
See if in fact your QFP leads have these geometric features. You might also
check the lead material to kake sure it is not Alloy 42--that could result in
local expansion mismatch failures.
