A NAS549 plastic washer can be used to insulate the fastener from
adjacent pads. You may need one on both sides depending on the
configuration.

Scott, this sounds like a good approach.

Jim,
At a former place, we had the same problem, the answer was a metal
bracket that mounted to the top of the connector and then moved the
holes back away to rear of the connector. If this is the one I'm
thinking of, the top side of the mounting bushings is open to do this
type of thing. Good luck.

Subject: [TN] 25 Pin Micro-D Connector

Hello Technet:

Perhaps one of you has come across this issue before. We're specifying
the use of a 25 pin Micro-D connector (MIL-DTL-83513/10C), PCB mount.
The connector body has #2-56 inserts, so the mounting hardware (#2
screws) are installed from the solder-side of the PWB into the
connector. The way this connector is designed, the mounting holes are
located .083" from the 2 outer-most PTHs in the center row. The
mounting screw and associated washer will overlap these 2 PTHs on the
solder side. Has anyone used these connectors in the past and what did
you do to prevent the hardware from contacting the PTHs? We're thinking
a spacer to raise the washer/screw up off the board.
