I've heard of bundling your software before, but this gives a whole new
meaning to keeping the hardware fix under wraps.

Funny you should mention a "blanket". The latest DIY fix for the 360 is
to wrap it in a blanket for one hour while powered up. Unwrap, turn
off, let cool, and hundreds of people are swearing it fixes the problem.
I'm serious!

I did not picture you (using a digital camera) making a blanket
statement (use of blanket to depress and release smoke from fire to
create message) as well as all of the other cryptic messages I know
"how" to send.

I think the matter is being covered by the blanket statement "general
hardware failure" - but it sounds like a smokescreen to
me..............8-)

John,
I didn't picture you making a blanket statement.

One day we will find a use for all of this new technology - something
profoundly useful as opposed to the "playthings" that companies are
presently relying on for their profits.

Something really useful - like um - interfacing two dissimilar forms of
communication such as for instance smoke signals to e-mail, until the
digital camera came along it was not
possible..........................8-)

Yes I am joking.......................happy Friday Technetters

That is a very valuable observation. Even if it can reach someone
siginificant at microsoft, rest of us can appreciate it. Hardware cannot
be treated like software. Windows have many ideosyncracies. It is an
expansion around a old hut to convert the hut into a mansion, not a
mansion designed ground up.

Oh I see what you mean................

They launch every version of windows as a beta site test on the World
followed by a hundred patches to make it work. ( The new computer I just
bought my daughter needed over 100 upgrade "patches" new out of the box
on
Vista)

Maybe they thought they could do the same with
hardware.......................8-)
