Can anyone shed some light on this term? (Comparative Tracking Index).
Googling it tells me "...CTI is used to measure the electrical breakdown
(tracking) properties of an insulating material. To measure the tracking, 50
drops of 0.1% ammonium chloride solution are dropped on the material, and
the voltage measured for a 3mm thickness is considered representative of the
material performance."
20+ years of doing board layout and I just heard of it. How does it apply
to printed circuits?

Hi John,
I believe all "findings" are dealt with by warning the companies concerned
so that they "adjust" their product design.
I do not know of any general product that has been "caught" in the EU and
been made public as to the name of the company product type etc.
