Its will help to keep loose whiskers particles in place.
You should use the right coatings, finishes, materials to avoid the
creation of whiskers.

Subject: [LF] Potted Assemblies
Hello,
I am going to pot a lead free assembly for an automotive ignition
application,
to provide against vibration and several other factors. Would potting
such a
module help or even prevent tin whiskers developing?
Regards,
Colin Weber
