I don't know how many times it has been said here that a so-called
"no-clean" flux is formulated primarily so that the residues are as
benign as possible WITHOUT any cleaning process. If you choose to clean
them, the residues may be much less benign. Fluxes that are designed to
be cleaned are formulated to ensure the cleaning process is as easy as
possible. I do not advise mixing types on any one assembly because you
are negating that advantages of both. The easiest way round your problem
is to use a water-soluble flux for wave soldering (and reduce your
retouch rate at the same time!)
