There are quite a bit of problems in dealing with feeders not just how

components are being taped and reeled. With the amount of glue on the

cover tape, it would not be too much to stick to the carrier tape or the

glue that has been applied is the like of "GORILLA GLUE".

You did not mention the kind of feeder you are using and to what machine

type. Anyway, the first thing to do is check your feeders:

1. if there is enough tension on the top foil(cover tape)

   - the top foil(cover tape) should pass through the right tape paths.

Make sure the winding rollers and crimping rollers are in good

condition.

2. if the feeder index is correct.

3. if any feeder parts are loose, damaged or broken.

4. if the carrier tape is stuck in the tape guide or any component might

be stuck in it.

Hope this will help.

Subject: [TN] Peeling strength of cover tape

Hi Technos,

we're having issues here with tape jamming in the feeders and we feel

that the cover tape is too well glued to the carrying tape.

Is there a standard or a commonly recognized rule for the adherence of

the cover tape? Can it be measured somehow?

Thanks,

Ioan
