Hi,

I have a question to parts purchased for SMT. How do you handle
materials you bought from the open market. Means you havn't done a
detailed specification because it is a standard material (e.g. passive
components).
Our question is we have a data sheet from the supplier but we would like
to know how we could handle it regarding change management, supplier
part number, validity of the data sheet, PCNs,...
The other point is how can it be handled in case of detected deviations
from data sheet?
Is a supplier's product data sheet a relevant purchase document at all?
What has to be done to make such business rock solid?

Could you please share your experience with me?
Many thanks in advance!

Kerstin
