Bev: Why not just ask your paste manufacturer?

Technetters,
I would like to measure the oxidation of the solder spheres in solder
paste. I do not have an Auger or XPS. Now I know that ACI (EMPF) was
selling a device at one time that looked at solder paste quality on the
stencil. I am not referring to that equipment. I seem to recall there
was a Japanese piece of equipment that might have been something like a
SERA tester that claimed to be able to do this. I was wondering if
anyone on this forum had ever used it/checked it out? Or did it never
hit North American shores because of potential patent conflict with the
SERA tester? Any leads would be appreciated.
