I think anybody who can become a physicist should do so. My hat's off to
y'all. Having said that... I think anybody doing just about anything could
apply the same logic. I think the bagboy at Krogers wouldn't squish our
bread with the OJ carton if he only had a degree in physics.

To do a Dewey, Why did the [insert generic target group] pour pepsi on the
bump on her leg? She'd heard good things about fizzy-cysts.....

I know, I know.... shut up and lurk.

[DC] Why do people "lurk" w/o participating?

Rodney,

That's a good idea... and in keeping with concept of constant learning...
my
hats off to you for getting the degree. That is no small feat. (By the way
conceptual physics was always my favorite subject. But I do not have a
degree in it.)

The funny thing is the Marketing department, shipping and receiving
inspection, Quality department, Test engineering, Assembly engineering,
and
even the Purchasing department also have requirements that need to be
taken
into account when you do a board design... Most of them do not have any
experience with the concepts in applied physics but their needs are just
as
important.

That's why I try to have a conversation with them about their needs on the
front end of any project we work on... each job has its own specific
requirements... and their input into the process is valuable... and helps
me
do a better design. That's why this job of designing boards is so central
to
the success of the product... what we do on the CAD system affects a lot
of
other people's success.

Best regards,

I would agree that this job sits on the edge of more that a few
engineering disciplines. What is why my company thought it would be best
for me to complete a degree in applied physic so that I could work with
many different types of engineers without having to have a degree for
each discipline.
