There's not an exact definition, because its being used all kinds of
different ways these days.
In fact, there's a survey you can take where you can calculate your
own personal carbon footprint compared to the world average

The only other use related to TechNet is if you heard it used in reference
to the old carbon switch contacts. If so, ignore that first part of the
