Conformal coatings provide fungus protection and MIL-I-46058 (and now IPC-CC-830 if my memory is correct) include fungus testing.
   
  This is one of the few tests that my former employer sent out to be done. 6 fungus are used in testing (there are more).
   
  Some conformal coatings (the ones made from natural products) contain fungicides. It's a real balancing act to select fungicides for this application. Some of the traditional ones are considered to be hazardous to the environment.
