Hi Amol,
BeCu does not solder worth a damn--that is why you need an 'exoskeleton' of
Cu or Ni over it [it needs to be thick enough that it does not dissolve during
soldering and carry the mechanical/thermal loads.
What you are describing is oxidised/non-solderable Ni--the Ni needs to be
imAu plated.
