Wow, making your own heat sinks!  Are these so special they must be
custom made?  There is nothing on the open market that would do the job?

Just now, I happen to work with heatsinks from Plansee. Their material
is 
little expensive, but what products! The thermal, mechanical and 
environmental properties are outstanding. There is probably nothing
better.
