Hi Steve, 
 
Looking at the photo it appears that this is a "flex to fit" application. 
It 
is not possible to deterring if it is superficial or not. 
 
There are some potential ways to clean it up but I am not certain it would 
 
be of benefit and some might make the matter worse. 
 
I assume that this is a one time event.  I can't  visualize on first 
glance 
how it might be a problem with the ground beneath and  the scratch 
substantially parallel with the bend but much depends on the  application 
and use 
environment. One step to better understanding that  end, will it be bent 
with the 
imperfection inside or outside the bend? 
 
If you wish to clean it up (i.e., cover it up) there are UV curable liquid 
 
covercoats akin to solder mask that could work in the manner you are 
accustomed 
 to.
 
Werner and other folks here may have  some additional thoughts to share as 

well.
