I thought (a penny's worth) the modern ones were in zinc, thinly
copper-clad, because solid copper would be worth more than 1 cent in
intrinsic value. As it is, I think the cost of manufacture is higher
than 1 cent (if that is not true, does it become a mint humbug?).
