I would refer you to the excellent book, "The Contamination of Printed
Wiring Boards and Assemblies", by Carl J. Tautcher, published by Omega Scientific
Services in 1976.
Carl did much work with the military & aerospace world to deal with the
phenomenon of 'vesication' as it was known at the time. I would suggest you take
a look at Chapter 6 especially, although the topic is described in many of the
other chapters of this book.
