We use some of our expired paste to tin solder iron tips. It is a lot easier
on the tips then that tip restore stuff, the flux (no-clean versions) is not
as aggressive. It works just as well, but it smokes more.

The rest of the stuff we melt down and put back in our solder wave. 18 jars
ouch.

Subject: [TN] What to do with expired solder paste?

Was sorting through the fridge in the stockroom at work...pushed aside a
couple of sandwiches and yogurts (the stockroom people keep their
lunches in there...) and came across a box with 9kg(18 jars) of solder
paste expired in mid 2004 - a brand we don't use any more. Standard
63/37 no-clean.

What would you do with it? Never even been opened.

Genny.
