We prohibit use of any peelable masking material for sockets or connectors since our experience is that folks tend to probe female contact sockets to remove the material and this spreads the contacts causing intermittent connections.

We currently use Techspray "Wondermask P". It does not have the nasty
ammonia smell of our old mask material.

Subject: [TN] Latex Peelable Soldermask
Happy Friday TechNetters,
We currently us Latex Peelable Soldermask for temporary masking during
conformal coating. We us the HB (Heavy Body) type but the manufacturer
says they no longer make it; they only make the thinner material which
runs too much for application.
I'm curious as to what peelable materials others of you are using for
this application.
Thanks and have a Great Weekend!
