How is it weighed or broken down by industry sector, ie., medical,
telecomm, military, space, industrial, processing (computer,
supercomputer), and consumer? For each sector, you will get different
results.

Subject: [TN] Cleaning

Just a follow up from last week.

The SMART Group has conducted cleaning surveys in the past on their
website.

This survey was conducted in 2002 and received 79 votes cast:
1. No-Clean 61%
2. Nitrogen with No-Clean 14%
3. Water Wash 15%
4. Solvent Clean 6%
5. Semi Aqueous 4%

At that time, then, about 75% of the participants did not clean. The
geographic profile is unknown (as any visitor to the website can cast a
vote, anonymously), although I expect it was European biased. Five years
later, I would guess no-clean to be a bit more popular. We'll see, a new
cleaning survey has just gone up!

Not rigorously scientific, of course, just an indication of industry
trends.

Regards,
Peter
